GWS coach Adam Kingsley will give sore skipper Toby Greene until the last minute to prove his fitness for their AFL semi-final rematch against Brisbane.
Greene is nursing a corked left hip/glute ahead of Saturday's clash at the Gabba after copping a knee from Port Adelaide defender Aliir Aliir.
The star forward tried to play on through obvious discomfort, but was ultimately substituted for Brent Daniels at halftime of the round-13 fixture.
Teams will be announced later on Thursday, but coach Kingsley says the Giants will wait until game day to make a call on Greene.
The 31-year-old has often played through soreness, having managed a rolled ankle after their round-nine win over Geelong.
"We'll give him every chance, but he didn't get through training, so we'll just have to see how that goes," Kingsley said.
"I'll speak to the physios and we'll just see how close he actually is to coming up. He's still got 48 hours.
"It's just a knock. It was a good knee to his buttocks. It's a deep cork. It's just hindering his ability to run and move."
The Giants will at least welcome back Finn Callaghan in a much-needed boost for their midfield group.
Callaghan has not played since dislocating his shoulder in round 10.
His inclusion comes as ruck Nick Madden, in his second AFL game, prepares to take on Brisbane counterpart Oscar McInerney (managed) on return.
Preferred ruck Kieren Briggs remains sidelined for at least two weeks with an ankle injury, but Kingsley was confident Madden - picked over veteran Lachlan Keeffe - could do the job.
Madden finished with 26 hitouts to Port Adelaide ruck Dante Visentini's 30 and four clearances in his AFL debut.
"Whoever he (Madden) plays against is going to be an experienced ruckman, pretty challenging, pulseras magneticas but we back him in," Kingsley said.
"What we're finding out is that maybe we've got a little bit more than just Kieren (in ruck depth)."
